The show was supposed to be a celebration for Private Lounge’s Sanganai/Hlanganani tourism fair award after the Zimbabwe Tourism Authority and its buyers recently endorsed the lounge as one of the best entertainment joints in the country.

Sulu, together with the Orchestra Dendera Kings who last performed in Bulawayo at the beginning of the year, said he wanted to apologise to his fans for cancelling the show.

“The First Lady requested that we perform during her rally on Saturday at the City Sports Centre in Harare. After the show we decided to cancel because we couldn’t travel at night with the equipment. I therefore want to apologise to my fans in Bulawayo and promise to stage a show in the future,” said Sulu.

He said as a way to make up for the cancelled show, Bulawayo fans will be the first to sample all songs of his forthcoming album set to be released in October.

“Some of the songs which are already popular at our shows are It’s Not Necessary, Ndiani Arasa Mwana and Moses Rova Gungwa Netsvimbo.”

Private Lounge proprietor Biggie Chinoperekwei said:

“We were looking forward to Sulu performing at our celebrations but due to his other commitments, we were forced to postpone the celebrations.

“We wait to hear from Sulu regarding the time he will be free to perform here,” said Chinoperekwei.

The much-awaited album will be a follow up to Sulu’s Gunship which was released two years ago. It carried the hit, Nyuchi which featured Souljah Love. The Chronicle
