Macheso was born in Bindura and grew up in Shamva. Several musicians that include Suluman Chimbetu, Peter Moyo, Progress Chipfumo, Leonard Zhakata, Faheem Somanje and Freeman are billed to perform at the event.

Macheso’s publicist Tich Makahamadze said they have chosen to celebrate in Chitungwiza because the city is the musician’s home ground.

“Chitungwiza is his best place and that is why we decided to have the celebrations there. We are happy that there are several musicians that have come on board to celebrate with him,” he said.

Makahamadze said while preparing for the big day they will be having several shows as pre-party celebrations. On Sunday the musician will be performing with Faheem Somanje at Wedza Spacemen in Glen Norah A.

He said they have made it a policy to value family shows as they bring unity among families.

“Macheso is a musician who respects unity within the society and he believes family shows bring people, especially couples together,” he said.

Makahamadze said it was good that the place was ideal for family shows.

“That place is good for family shows and we encourage people to come in their numbers,” he said.

Organisers of the event said they hosted the musician on the eve of his new album release and the response was overwhelming.

“People have been requesting for him to return since we hosted him on the eve of his album release. We decided to have another show because of the demand,” said one of the organisers.

Since the release of his album “Tsoka Dzerwendo” the musician has regained his lost glory. The Herald
