A Bulawayo man allegedly opted for “an easy way” bedding his maid because his wife was being impossible — denying him conjugal rights.

Auxillia Nkomo revealed that her husband Nkosilathi Dube, a self-employed builder, deserted her to stay with their maid in Cowdray Park.

Nkomo bared her soul at the Bulawayo Civil Court where she was seeking a protection order against him.

She said she was living in fear after he allegedly threatened to kill her for confronting him over his affair with the maid.

As a way of scaring her from further confronting him, Dube also threatened to commit suicide at her parents’ place.

“I was customarily married to Nkosilathi Dube and we separated after he started having an affair with our maid saying I was not good. He has since moved out of the house to stay with the maid in Cowdray Park. He started being violent and harassed me after I confronted him over the affair with the latest incident being on 14 February this year. He has also threatened to kill me before he commits suicide at my parents’ home,” she said.

In response Dube disputed Nkomo’s claims saying the source of their separation was that the latter was denying him conjugal rights.

“Everything she said before this court is not true. Of course we had a maid but I never had a sexual relationship with her as she is alleging. The main reason for our separation is that we were no longer having sexual intercourse. She was always insulting me in front of our children and was bragging at me saying she has found another man who has money,” he said.

In his ruling the presiding magistrate Sheunesu Matova ordered Dube not to insult or threaten Nkomo and visit her place of residence and workplace with the purpose of disturbing her peace. B Metro
