On November 5 at around 8pm, Pfupajena was driving his Nissan Champ along Sam Nujoma Street in the inner lane and was speeding; he lost control of the vehicle and side-swiped to the outer lane, ramming the Range Rover driven by Minister Chombo.

Both vehicles sustained minor damages.

When police arrived, Pfupajena was ordered to produce his driver’s licence but he failed to do so. Sergeant Matezwa from Avondale Police Station discovered that Pfupajena’s vehicle was not insured and did not have the current vehicle licence.

Sgt Matezwa checked with the Central Vehicle Registration (CVR)and discovered that Pfupajena was not a licensed driver and had been caught driving without a valid licence.
