Carl Joshua for international comedy festival

Local comedian Carl Joshua Ncube has been invited to perform at this year’s Comedy Central International Festival in South Africa.
Carl will perform in the best of Africa gala category alongside Basketmouth, Salvador and Churchill on December 5 at the Globe, Silverstar Casino in Johannesburg.
The comedy festival runs from November 16 to December 5 and it will have performances from various well-known comedians in Africa.
SA’s celebrated comedian Trevor Noah, Roastmaster, General Jeff Ross, Goliath & Goliath, Casper de Vries and Schalk Bezuindhout among others will perform.
Ncube said he is elated to take part at the prestigious comedy gathering.
“If there is anything I have always wanted to be on, it is Comedy Central and this makes it extra special for me. I am also honoured to be part of such an awesome set of comedians that I have learnt so much from in my career,” said Ncube.
In a statement South African international comedian Trevor Noah said, “It’s always so much fun performing with this many amazing comedians and Comedy Central has done an amazing job of putting on this world-class festival.”
Carl broke into the Zimbabwean comedy scene with his debut one-man show “Carl Joshua Ncube’s BIG ANNOUNCEMENT” setting him up as arguably the best Zimbabwean stand up comedian.
He was however, able to realise a lot of ground-breaking achievements as a result of his move to South Africa.
Renowned South African comedy club, Parkers Comedy where he got a slot to perform and rub shoulders with some of South Africa’s comedy elites such as Kediboni Malaudzi.
The comedian has performed in South Africa, Botswana, Zambia, Uganda, Kenya, Nigeria and US.
He was part of a 37 member list of comedians drawn from all over the African continent to perform in Johannesburg in 2011.
The list included renowned comedians such as Basketmouth, Ndumiso Lindi and Kagiso Ladeba.
Locally he has performed in Harare, Bulawayo, Mutare, Gweru and Kadoma among other places. His upcoming performance at Comedy Central will add another achievement to his international success.
