Biti should join Zanu PF – Tsvangirai

CHITUNGWIZA – Main opposition leader Morgan Tsvangirai has urged his former Secretary General Tendai Biti to form a coalition with President Robert Mugabe’s Zanu PF and vowed he would never consider working with him again.

Addressing hundreds of supporters in Zengeza West on Monday, Tsvangirai accused Biti of being pre-occupied with attacking him.

“They have launched their party and if they believe they can offer anything, let the people judge.

“There are people preoccupied with Tsvangirai bashing, but if they were using that same energy to attack President Mugabe things would be better.

“I suspect that those attacking me should form a coalition with Zanu PF and leave like-minded people alone,” he said.

Early this month Biti savaged Tsvangirai describing him as a thief and a womanizer.

“Some of the leaders have no conscience or morality as they are busy womanising and demanding stipends from Zanu (PF), the devil. They are living in houses provided by Zanu (PF),” said Biti.

“We don’t share the same values with MDC-T. Morgan Tsvangirai was a thief. He slept at the wheel during the GNU and his party is founded on violence. That is why we decided to part ways last year,” Biti added.

Meanwhile Tsvangirai criticised Mugabe’s speech at the United Nations saying the 91-year-old Zanu PF leader was out of touch with reality.

“The government that we have is very unstable. They fight among themselves and there is no recovery to talk about on our plight as a nation.

“At the UN when you call for a new world order people will ask whether you are from [the planet] Mars. The world has become globalised and there is no new order besides the fact that we are in a global village. You cannot break the global linkages of trade. This shows that we have a leadership that is out of date.”
