SOUTH AFRICA – Ajax Cape Town newcomer Thomas Chideu is confident he will find his stride in time at Ikamva.
The Zimbabwean striker made his first appearance for the club in a 2-2 draw with Bidvest Wits in the MultiChoice Diski Challenge this past weekend.
Chideu shared his thoughts of the Reserve League game on Ajax’s official website.
The former Highlanders man said: “The game was good, the pitch was not okay, it was wet, we were forced to play in the air all the time. My fitness is okay, no problem.
“I need to work on how to finish and how to fit in with the other guys. I need to start gelling with the other players. I want to know the system of how Ajax Cape Town plays but as time goes on, I’ll be okay. Maybe in the next game I’ll score too.”
He added: “Being part of Ajax Cape Town has always been seen as an honour for all young players. I’m happy to be here. I’m hoping for the best.
“This is my biggest achievement and I look forward to making the team as well as the supporters happy. Training is hard and I’ve been nervous, but it’s nice.”
The Urban Warriors recruited Chideu in July after he impressed Roger de Sa’s technical team on a trial in Parow. KickOff.com
