The two have been married for seven years.

“Ndakapa adzimai vangu US$40 ye round yavanotamba pasvondo neshamwari dzavo ndobva vati vaida imwe US$18 kuti vabhadhare hembe dzavaive vakakwereta.

“When I told her I did not have the money we started quarrelling and all of a sudden she’s bit me on my privates. I was naked as I was dressing up to prepare to go to work when she bit me,” said Zihwe.

He said he reported the matter at Domboramwari Police Station and he went for treatment at a local clinic and was referred to Harare hospital for further treatment.

“I am in pain but I still love my wife,” he said.

Efforts to get a comment from his wife were fruitless as she was said to be using the same phone with her husband and could not be located at their home.

However, neighbours contradicted him saying he was not married and they were not aware of any woman living with him.

“Ah mukadzi upi waari kutaura nezvake? Haana mukadzi murume uyu,” said one of his neighbours.

Another neighbour revealed to H Metro that she’s had been living in the same neighbourhood with Zihwe for almost three years but was not aware of any wife.

“I have been living here for a couple of years and have never seen any wife; he brings home several women unless he got married last night.

“Kana akarumwa it might be he failed to pay a prostitute money,” said one of the neighbours in laughter.

When quizzed about remarks made by his neighbours, he dismissed them saying they were prostitutes.

“Never mind about those women; they are jealous about my lifestyle they are actually prostitutes,” he said in anger. H Metro
