Chitungwiza mayor in sex scandal

Chitungwiza mayor, Philip Mutoti, has been fingered in the collapse of a local couple’s marriage.

According to the allegations, the mayor has been spotted several times with Nelly Nyamadze, 21, who is married to Dickson Masanga, 29 and this has led to the breakdown of the young couple’s marriage.

Contacted for comment, Mayor Mutoti said his life had nothing to do with the media.

“Let me ask you this, if I am having an affair, what is it to the media? Why are you so concerned?

“I do not know what you are talking about. I only answered your call because you kept calling me though I am still in a meeting,” he said before hanging up.

Nelly said she had no business with this publication pertaining to her love life while she indicated knowing Mayor Mutoti and his wife Diana.

“It’s none of your dirty business if I am having an affair with him (Mutoti) or not.

Kana wazvinzwa zvigoita sei? Ask Diana mukadzi wake,” she said before hanging up.

When she was questioned further over whatsapp she continued to deny the claims.

“Make sure une info yakakwana…nekuti yamatanga ihombe,” she texted.

Her whatsapp status read: “I don’t care what people say.”

It is alleged that Mayor Mutoti once gave Diana, his wife, a bashing in the street while trying to evict her from their matrimonial home in order to accommodate a girlfriend.

Further claims are that Nelly attends political party meetings with Mutoti and the two were spotted together a fortnight ago.

Dickson said he had received several calls from people telling him of the mayor’s advances on his wife.

“It is worrying that a mayor who should show his fatherly figure to the whole Chitungwiza community and beyond has chosen to break my marriage.

“I thought it would end when I discovered love messages in my wife’s phone but it has ended up this way.

“We once went to the police with my wife after I discovered the messages but police at St Mary’s made my wife take the phone that had the messages and she deleted them,” said Dickson.

He said they had engaged relatives several times but his marriage kept failing because of Mayor Mutoti.

Dickson said: “I heard from people that my wife was spotted at Ziko and Chikwanha lodges in the company of the mayor.

“She has been away from home for over two months now after news of her affair with the mayor broke out.”

He said Nelly always went to her place whenever it was discovered that she was having an affair with the mayor ad would return when issues calmed down.

“Nelly would always run away and right now she is in Zengeza 1 where she is always spotted in the company of Mutoti.”

Dickson said it was now two months since his wife left home after the discovery of romantic messages between her and Mayor Mutoti.

Sources say Diana, who always stays at home, is said to have had some of these women calling and insulting her.
