Of Itai Dzamara, Walter Magaya and Mugabe’s folly – Jowani Masowe Chishanu view

We cry for the bravery of our missing son of the soil Itai Dzamara. Such has been the order of the day in Mugabe‘s Zimbabwe for the past 35 years. Disappearances and mysterious deaths are commonplace under old Mugabe’s rule. The old, the young and even the famous have not been spared.

We call upon the Christian community to at least organize and come together and pray for Itai’s life. Everyone knows the culprit but as usual in Zimbabwe everyone is afraid to confront it. What he was sacrificing his life for at Africa Unity Square is what we all wish but are afraid to say or discuss openly and that is Mugabe has destroyed our lives, that of our children and shamed our nationhood.

Mugabe is treachery, deceit and evil personified at least according to us in the realm of the Jowani Masowe dispensation. He is a devil incarnate, a little man who is an embodiment of national misfortune. Running down people’s livelihoods and the nation’s being for the love of power and his dubiously ‘Doctored’ Grace.

No sane man of God can see Mugabe otherwise.

Walter Magaya is a very prominent and senior member of the Christian community. He has every right to comment on things of religion good or bad. But we feel hard done by his recent comments about our own religion of Jowani Masowe.

Jowani Masowe is a minority religion with a very limited pubic voice although very popular in Zimbabwe and the region. We think Magaya should have reserved his comments a little bit and first sought an informed audience and seek understanding with some of us.

Throwing mud at other religions and their membership is not a characteristic of true God fearing Christian leaders. Jowani Masowe is not a Christian religion. Evidenced by that the Bible is not our focal point of reference in the issues of our Omnipotent God. I do not think that makes us less of God.

Islam, Hinduism, Judaism etc do not refer to the Bible as the basis of their believing and we are not different. But Jesus was Jewish and all religious people worship God in ways they know best. Tolerance is the key word!

Jowani Masowe is a traditional religion of African origin whose routes are strongly entrenched in the traditional religion of our grand Zimbabwean parents. Our not being Christian and choosing to belong to JMC is a choice and nothing stops us from being Christians except that we have our own reservations to it also.

And yet Magaya was to an extent correct in his assessment of the PRACTICES some of our spiritual people are up to. Unfortunately these make significant numbers but a majority of them wrong all the same!

I agree with Magaya that the majority of the self-proclaimed ‘prophets’ are not of God. I can even put the rough estimate at around 99% of the current practicing Jowani Masowe ‘Prophets’ to be false and I owe no one an apology.

It is true that these falsehoods have popularised water, water weeds, mahapa, tsanga, nhokwe etc as prophetic ‘medicines’.

We do not need Johannes Ndanga to come to our defense because we know him also is not genuine. Neither are we endorsing Walter Magaya as a true prophet and righteous. God knows and only Him is the judge.

Baba Jowani never taught about the weeds, reeds, and fauna issues being practiced by these unscrupulous ‘prophets’. Jowani did not bring the gospel of healing, miracles and miracle money or miracle roots and / or trees. He did not bring nor recommend sea water and jecha, stones nor reeds, leaves nor trees.

These things were a creation of one Mudyiwa, the self-proclaimed Emmanuel. This is what we would have told Magaya if he had had the patience to wait and cross reference his notes. Mudyiwa is something else in our religion. Mudyiwa took away quite a chunk of our Jowane vapositori and went away from the original gospel of Jowani.

It is Mudyiwa who gave rise to Whimbo of Senega/Vadzidzi, Dasiwesi of Jerusarema then Sandros of Nyenyedzi, from whence we have Nzira, then Israeri, then Katsiru and the larger and larger followings local and abroad).

It is Mudyiwa the Godfather of Micho/Svingarehoko and Nguwo tsuku (I hope you can deduce from the svingarehoko title that there is not much Godly you can smell there), also Mudyiwa gave rise to the many more pretenders posing as Prophets who practice the ocean related things.

These people use the name of Jowani in vain. These people directly or indirectly emerge from Mudyiwa/Emmanuel/The Jesus of Chiweshe. They are not a product of baba Jowani at all! Jowani came with the gospel of righteousness, Love and peace.

We regard him as the true forerunner of the second coming of Christ. And sure what you see in the bushes and valleys and mountains purpoting to be of Jowani does not match the virtues of Godliness and the Gospel of Christ.

Mudyiwa prophesied his death and said that his spirit would not go to Heaven but dwell under the ocean waters. ’Ndaona ndaendwa neni pasi pemvura ndakaona ndagarapo kwemakore’.

Mudiwa claimed he was Jesus and started baptising despite being warned by many true Prophets in our religion. He rejected Abraham, he snubbed Isaaca, he disobeyed Jacopo and he shunned advice from Ginatsio all of whom are the very prominent of our prophets.

When he later approached Jowani in Bulawayo Jowani told him to go back and told him off that they would never meet again because Mudyiwa had defected and taken away innocent followers.

Many lost their lives during his leadership before during and after his ‘baptism’ practices.
Whimbo has a small pool he calls Besnai and demands that all patrons to his shrine must be ‘baptised/ cleansed’ in that thing. Many have lost their lives before, during and after these rituals.

Nzira could not be outdone and so established his own pool in Mayambara of Seke. Many lost their lives before, during and after this ritual. And to this he coined a popular song ‘Ndaona Dziva rezvirwere.’

At one time Nzira prophesied that he had been ‘chosen’ through a dream by a man who emerged from the depth of the ocean who said to him, ‘ You! I want You!’ then the man disappeared deep into the sea waters.

‘Ndaona murume angonyuka kubva munyanza ndokubva andinongedza achiti ‘ Iwewe, ndiwe wandirikuda iwe!’ ndokubva angonyura mugungwa.’ there you are!

And to this Nzira coined another popular song among his congregation that confirms, ‘’Chipo changu chinbva mugungwa!’’ You see?

We hear the hugely popular Israel of Coca Cola has his own annual pilgrims to Cape Town for sea water cleansing ceremonies. Followers pay big not to miss this ritual. Many pay big to have this sea water brought for them to cleanse themselves also back home if they fail to go.

Many of these young pretenders frequent Manhize hills of Chivhu to visit a small well there where they say their powers come from. Stupid!!!

Magaya was therefore right pahuwrong hwake. But only that this is not of Jowani Masowe. I make this point because Walter specifically mentioned vapositori of Masowe. So I wish to shed light and stitch together some pieces.

And for a popular man of God to rubbish other religions directly is not Godly. Many Christians do many evil things. But that does not make Christianity a mountain, marine or even satanic religion. Magaya is only human and he can err but that does not make Christianity any worse.

We implore Magaya to use his high office to preach and show us the light. If we are lost, then one day we can learn and be found!

Mugabe is breathing his last drops of our free air. He has cheated almost everyone he has come across. He has bullied us, murdered some of us and caused the murder and suffering of so many more including the current Xenophobic victims.

We know he will never cheat death and he will never evade prophecies as already announced by our great prophets. The many more prophecies about causing suffering and murders has passed and some of it is still wih us. He is predictably at the threshold of fulfilling the last and catastrophic of our prophecies and we shudder.

He allows his wife to rule over us. He allows his wife to colonise our Mazowe valley of the Mbire and our great grandparenthood and of the great heritage of Mutota, Murenga Pfupajena and Nehanda. This is madness and I don’t think this should be tolerated forever. We will not allow Mazoe be colonised with dirty money.

Our forefathers are turning in their graves. And this is what the impending disaster is all about! Mugabe is merely deciding to leave a bloodied and tarnished legacy for especially his fake Grace.

Chiweshe is the home of our rushanga paNegomo paDeranji and we are not amused. We would not want that to be neighbour to a heartless woman and her baboons, dogs and monkeys at the sight of our sacred great Chindunduma.

We at JMC are greatly wronged by Mugabe the traitor. We cry the beloved Dzamara. We wish that he be brought back home to his family, wife and children alive and unharmed.
Magaya was right but we are expecting tolerance the seeking of truth and respect from fellow children of God.
