Kuwengwa leaves Mutare Polytechnic

MUTARE – Long-serving Mutare Polytechnic principal Mr Tobias Kuwengwa bade farewell to the institution he served for 26 years during a colourful ceremony held at the college last Friday.

Speaker after speaker during the farewell ceremony held for Mr Kuwengwa hailed the out-going principal for his dedication to duty as well as relentless efforts to develop and maintain infrastructure at the institution.

Guest of honour at the farewell ceremony Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Higher and Tertiary Education, Science and Technology Development, Dr Washington Mbizvo, commended Mr Kuwengwa for being exemplary in the execution of his duties.

“There is something special about Mr Kuwengwa that we all admired and will always cherish. I was saying to Mr Kuwengwa it is like you are listening to people speaking at your funeral simply because everyone spoke about the good the man did for the college, the ministry as well as his family. Such is the great work Mr Kuwengwa has been doing over the years,” said Dr Mbizvo.

The former Gweru Teachers’ College lecturer and Seke Teachers’ College principal, Mr Kuwengwa was once appointed acting Chief Executive Officer for Zimbabwe Manpower Development Fund (ZIMDEF) when the organisation was facing challenges. Manica Post
