More protests over ‘abducted’ activist Itai Dzamara

HARARE – Civic organizations and colleagues of activist and freelance journalist Itai Dzamara, who was allegedly abducted last week by alleged state agents, distributed placards bearing his face Wednesday, as a way of raising public awareness about his disappearance.

The family and colleagues of Dzamara, a leader of a movement called Occupy Africa Unity Square, which criticizes President Robert Mugabe’s alleged mismanagement of the economy say his whereabouts are still unknown.

Dzamara’s fellow activist Charles Nyoni told VOA Studio 7 that civic groups and political parties will march in Harare on Thursday to exert more pressure on the government to intensify the search for Dzamara. VOA (Studio 7)
