By Tawanda Marwizi

About a year after cutting ties with a lady he had publicly exhibited as his girlfriend and would-be wife, Tryson Chimbetu has abandoned bachelorhood.

A lady only identified as Nyaradzai eloped to Tryson last week but the musician does not want people to know about his new marital status.

Circumstances that led Nyaradzai to pack her bags for the Chimbetu’s house in Glen View 3 are not clear but The Herald Entertainment can reveal that she is now sharing the bed with Tryson. The musician is still to customarily formalise the affair and make arrangements to pay lobola.

After getting information from a source close to the musician, The Herald Entertainment visited Tryson’s residence yesterday morning and found the new ‘daughter-in-law’ doing household chores.

Nyaradzai confirmed she is Tryson’s new ‘wife’ adding her ‘husband’ was asleep.

“My husband is still asleep and I cannot wake him up. His weekends are busy and this is the time for him to rest. He does not want to be disturbed,” said Nyaradzai.

However, she refused to shed light on their affair and could not disclose her surname.

The musician’s young brother Wilson who was sitting outside the house confirmed the latest development but could not divulge more information.

Tryson could not be reached for comment yesterday after the ‘home visit’ but on Monday he had denied that a girl eloped to him.

“I am not married and no one eloped to me. I know people who are telling you all those lies. Come here and I will give you good stories. I think I should become a journalist because I have many stories,” said Tryson.

Sources close to the development said the musician was not in a position to publicly talk about his ‘wife’ until he customarily formalises the union.

“Akatizirwa and he does not want people to know about it. Maybe when he pays lobola he will be able to announce it,” said the source.

Last year Tryson was dumped by his ex-girlfriend Kimberly Mautsa who said the musician had no time with her because of his busy schedule.

However sources close to the development said Tryson’s family was against his intention to marry Kimberly accusing her of having loose morals.

The “Pahotera” singer first brought Kimberly to the public eye at Jazz 105 during a party to celebrate his cousin Suluman’s three National Arts Merit Awards accolades.

Unlike other musicians of his age, Tryson (26) has largely kept his love life a secret and it remains to be seen if he will eventually pay lobola for Nyaradzai. The Herald
