Same old story as Dynamos beat Caps United

HARARE – It was the same old story today as Zimbabwe premiership champions Dynamos extended their dominance over city rivals Caps United by beating them 2-1 in a league match at the National Sports Stadium in Harare. 

As has been the case in all their meetings this year, expectations were high in the Green Machine camp despite losing to their arch-rivals last week in the quarter-finals of the NetOne OneWallet Cup last Sunday.

Today the teams clashed for the third time in succession with the first league meeting having ended in a 1-1 stalemate at the same venue two weeks ago.

Tendai Samanja opened the scoring after he bagged home for Caps United in the 9th minute but the scoreline lasted until the breather.

In 50th minute, Washington Pakamisa leveled the scoreline before Russell Madamombe sealed it in the 70th minute to make it 2-1 for the home team. It was the first league defeat for Caps United at National Sports Stadium.

Caps United have not beaten Dynamos in five years just like Highlanders have not been Dynamos in 8 years now.
