“Tsvigu was attacked around 10PM on Saturday on his way home from a beerhall. He spent the whole night in the drain as he could not move,” said a police source.

A man, who identified himself only as Ngulube, said he spotted Tsvigu in the  drain and reported the matter to Nkulumane police station. Ngulube said at first he thought Tsvigu was dead.

“I saw the man around 10AM on my way to church and I thought he was dead because he was not moving. I then reported to the police who later found out that he was still alive and called an ambulance to rush him to hospital,” said Ngulube.

He said Tsvigu told him that he  was attacked by five men who robbed him of his money before throwing him into the drain. When the newscrew arrived at the scene, an ambulance had just arrived to ferry Tsvigu to Mpilo Central Hospital. Chronicle
