An estimated 50 people attended Tendai Biti’s rally in Manicaland on Saturday.

It marks the first rally by the MDC-T Secretary General since the announcement by his faction last weekend that they had parted company with founding president Morgan Tsvangirai.
Biti had been under pressure from the media and his backers to demonstrate his support using a rally. But given wide spread claims that Manicaland was a stronghold for the faction, the turnout for the first rally will increase doubts about his ability to outshine Tsvangirai or even unseat Mugabe.
