Katsande has admitted that their Wednesday’s league clash away to Bidvest Wits will not be an easy task, especially at this stage of the season.

AmaKhosi are under pressure to close a six-point gap between them and Mamelodi Sundowns at the top, and Katsande said that they will be aiming for nothing less than three points.

“The Wits game is going to be tough, because we are visiting them in their home ground where they are always difficult to beat. The title race is on big time now. We will give them the respect they deserve, but we will go there for the three points.

“A win at (Polokwane) City was a confidence booster especially going into the critical time of the league. We were coming from two defeats in the league. We must build on that momentum going forward,” he said.

The tough-tackling Zimbabwe international remains positive that despite trailing Sundowns by six points, AmaKhosi still have a good chance of defending their title.

“As far as I know, the league is still open for the top three teams. We walked this path before last season, so we know how hard it is at the last hurdle,” added Katsande.

Katsande also spoke about the importance of defending their Nedbank Cup title. The Soweto giants will face the Students in the semifinals of this year’s Nedbank Cup.

“As a team we need to do well in every game and every competition. So we are focused and aware we have to defend our league and Cup. We need to defend them both and make our fans and our families happy. We must do well in both competitions,” concluded Katsande. Goal.com
