The updated home jersey was revealed to media at a local hotel in Bulawayo and the new strip stayed true to the club’s traditional black and white colours.

Present during the launch were representatives from adidas, Highlanders’ main sponsor BancABC and members of the Bosso executive and board.

In his address, adidas representative Bob Maphosa expressed satisfaction in the manner that Highlanders replica jerseys have been received on the market.

“I am delighted to say the jersey has enjoyed unprecedented success and we have enjoyed growth on the market.

“Undoubtedly we have had challenges but I am proud to say that we have managed to set the highest standard in terms of sport merchandise in the country,” Maphosa said.

The new strip features a condivo design around the collar and the sleeves, which is in line with global trends.

Another notable design detail on the jersey is the addition of a bridge-like band set across the shoulders, which enhances the jersey’s iconic look with additional detail.

The vertical-striped jerseys will also incorporate adidas Climalite technology, a soft, lightweight fabric for superior moisture management that conducts heat and sweat away from the body to keep players cool and dry in warm conditions.

Fordson Musingarabwi, the BancABC regional manager, challenged Bosso to scale dizzy heights this year and urged fans to support their team by buying the replica jerseys.

“As sponsors of Highlanders we are more than excited to be associated with the game of football and Highlanders in particular.

“Football brings a lot of people together and as part of the community we feel this is a great way to give back by sponsoring one of the biggest clubs in the country and we now challenge Highlanders to excite on the field of play.” Musingarabwi said.

Highlanders chairman Peter Dube said the support that his team has received from their sponsors has brought about tangible results.

“In the two and a half years that we have had this partnership the results it has brought are there for everyone to see.

“It is for that reason that I call upon all stakeholders to help nurture this relationship so that we can continue to realise the mutual benefits that emanate from this partnership,” Dube said.

The new Bosso replicas will be available for fans to purchase at the Highlanders headquarters in Bulawayo for USD $50. Daily News
