Manyeruke believes the failure by a local company to honour their promise made last year is putting him under undue pressure as he has to explain the non-deliverance of the Jaguar.

The father to dancehall star Guspy Warrior told the Daily News that he now has to answer people about why Pride Africa Network (Pan) has failed to honour their promise.

“Scores of people call me on a daily basis asking whether the car has arrived and some just ask for fun.

“I did not take it seriously when they (Pan) failed to deliver the said car but now the issue is gradually sinking into my mind following the way people are reacting to the matter, it is now affecting me,” said Manyeruke who boasts of more than 40 years gospel music experience.

However, Manyeruke said he still has hope that one day he is going to drive his promised asset.

“I am still waiting for the car even if the date has passed, I am just hoping that one day they will honour their promise,” said Manyeruke.

Manyeruke was promised a luxurious Jaguar XF as a token of appreciation for the contribution he made towards the development of gospel music for the past 40 years.

The Madhimoni hit maker was supposed to receive the car last year but this did not happen as the company shifted goal posts.

Shephard Sirewu of Pan blamed the economic upheaval currently being experienced in the country for the company’s failure to honour the promise.

“The deal between us and Manyeruke was made in good faith but it is only that things did not work out in our favour.

“We have bought the car on a hire purchase and it cost $75 000, then we organised a fundraising dinner to raise a few dollars in order to meet terms and conditions for the car.

Manyeruke is aware of all this but the problem we encountered was that the date for the dinner clashed with national budget presentations hence a number of companies failed to make it,”. He said he was not going to fix a new date since it would attract a lot of criticism.

“Now we are making frantic efforts to fulfil our promise but I am not going to reveal the date since this will attract a lot of attention especially from the media,” he said. Daily News
