The woman, Regina Evans opted to breastfeed her boyfriend Marlvern Shangwa’s child in the absence of his ailing wife. The official wife Rachel Mangirazi had been admitted at Harare Central Hospital.

The incident took place at house no. 1071 Glen Norah A, where Malvern stays with his family. Rachel’s aunt Gogo Cathrine Besa told H-Metro that she found Regina breastfeeding the child after visiting Malvern to accompany her to the hospital.

“It was better for Malvern to ask for money to buy milk than allowing his girlfriend to breastfeed the baby as a way of nursing it. Malvern abused Rachel physically by pulling her, physically forcing her to wake up for an early morning jog.

“She suffered bruises all over her body following that incident and the case is under investigation at Glen Norah police station with reference OB 660-14,” said Gogo Besa.

“Malvern is neglecting Rachel because she is sick and accommodating girlfriends in their matrimonial bedroom.

“Had it not been that we passed through their home, we would not have known that Regina is breastfeeding the baby without Rachel’s knowledge.

“As we speak, he has not been visiting Rachel in hospital spending quality time with Regina.

“We wanted to check if the kids had food, only to be disturbed by Regina who was seated in the house as if she is Malvern’s wife.

“Malvern is failing to raise cash for blood transfusion which is needed for his wife,” said Gogo Besa.

Malvern told H-Metro that Regina is now his second wife.

“Regina is looking after the baby and she cannot breastfeed a baby but the tot was only suckling as the baby was crying,” said Malvern.

“She is my second wife now and that will not change anything.

“They assaulted her all over her body and I suspect that they came here with that intention.

“I am not neglecting my wife and three children because she is sick and she is aware of regina’s presence,” said Malvern. H Metro
