Macheso back at Pick and Save

MUTARE – Sungura ace Alick “Chisale” Macheso is back at his favourite Mutare hunting ground, Pick and Save Supperrette, this weekend and is set to introduce a new dance, “Shake Shake”, for the first time.

Macheso is adored by many of his fans for his innovation. He has produced world-class dances before, which include Borrowdale, Slow motion, Zora Butter and Kochekera.

And on Saturday (today) the Orchestra Mberikwazvo team — a band which always offers something new for its fans every time they perform — is ready to dish out to its fans a new dance for 2014 after a 22-day break.

Macheso’s manager, William “Yellow” Tsandukwa, confirmed the development.

“We are coming back to Mutare with something new. Shake Shake is a dynamic and droll dance. We will be there to give it to people. We love our Mutare fans. They have always stood by us,” he said.

The show starts at 8pm.

The last time Macheso performed at the venue, many broke down after former Sounds of the Muddy Face guitarist Mike Adrion did wonders with his rhythm guitar.

The youthful Orchestra Mberikwazvo team, which consists of rhythm guitarists Tafirenyika “Fire” Nyamunda, Francis “Sekuru Francy Poto” Charamba, Devine “Wezhira” Muzenda, Donald Gogo, Elton Muropa and Wilson Meka, were also too good.

Macheso’s sub-bassist, Charles Chembe, also got the chance to show his prowess on bass for more than an hour before Macheso came on stage.

The Tafadzwa Nyarara-hit maker, Macheso, through Tsandukwa, has, however, vowed to do even better in a potentially explosive show dubbed: “The Ignition Show”.

The show organisers, Pick and Save Entertainment, said in a statement: “We are ready to host one of the revered musicians in Zimbabwe, Alick Macheso and Orchestra Mberikwazvo. All is in place for the mega show. We guarantee fun lovers the finest services.

“Ice-cold beer, security, braai and a standby generator are in place. We urge patrons to come in their numbers and shake off the January disease as they celebrate a new month of love.” Manica Post
