Mtukudzi is my dad: Jah Prayzah

Musician of the moment Jah Prayzah has likened his working relationship with superstar Oliver Mtukudzi as that of father and son.

Speaking ahead of their last gig on December 31 at the Harare International Conference Centre (HICC), Jah Prayzah said he did not take a show with Tuku like any other shows but a strong relationship between father and son.

Tuku has his last gig before his US tour and his first show back home will be held in April next year. Such is the verve that Jah Prayzah said their combination will continue bearing fruit and give fans real value.

“We gel well when we share the stage there are just fireworks. Fans have to expect the best of music from our combination,” said the Tsviriyo singer.

Jah Prayzah said he is fully rehearsed so that he makes the grade that would keep fans on the dance floor all night long.

“We want to show our fans some new acts and we have rehearsed towards that. There is also new music that will filter in to the fans,” he said.

Jah Prayzah said he was however going to release a new album next year.

“Fans will get the chance to hear our music during the show although the album will hit the market next year. I want to release an even better album,” he said.

The 3rd Generation band leader will share the stage with Tuku and Douglas Chimbetu- a younger musician who will deliver the much needed dendera flavour.

“We have been therein the industry but now we will be under the guidance of a superstar and we ought not to disappoint,” he said.
