Nyamutsamba Manyosa, 40, was found dead at house no. 6760A Western Triangle, Highfield in the early hours of Wednesday and his death is still being treated as sudden death pending investigations.

Sources told H-Metro that several domestic disputes existed between Manyosa and his wife and was probably venting his frustrations by drinking beer.

Reports are that Manyosa was forcibly separated from his wife who is a cop stationed at the Morris Depot Ordinance. The two regularly fought and Manyosa at one point attacked her. She said he turned up at around 1:45am asking for a place to put up.

She claimed he was drunk and told her that he was under the influence of brandy.

“Handina kuuraya munhu, ndaitomubatsirawo,” she said

“Okay, he came around 1:45am and he was drunk saying he could not get transport to go to his place of residence. He said he was stressed and had taken brandy to relieve himself from the stress.

“He was chased from this place by my parents over (unpaid) lobola and his unbecoming behaviour. He knocked on the window and I was reluctant to open as he once attacked me and I did not know his intentions,” she said.

“He said he wanted to come and apologise to my family so that he will be readmitted at this homestead,” she said.

She revealed that he had a heart problem and was once barred from taking alcohol. She suspected that could have affected him.

“I woke up in the morning only to find him on the floor and in his vomit and realised that he was dead,” she said.

The incident has left tongues waging in the neighbourhood with some suspecting foul play. She said her hands are clean and has nothing to do with his death.

“Handina kuuraya munhu. Munhu wandaichengeta. How can I kill someone in my own house?

“Even if I had not opened for him and then he died on my door step people would suspect that we had done something on him and threw him out. Anga atozvambarara pa door mat pangu,” she said.

Police provincial spokesperson Inspector Tadius Chibanda confirmed the incident. He said investigations have been launched to identify the cause of death.

“We learnt that there was a domestic dispute between the deceased and his wife. At 00:45hours, he got home drunk and proceeded to his bedroom. His wife was not happy with his drunken stupor and she moved to the dining room where she slept.

“She woke up in the morning and found him dead,” he said.

Insp Chibanda added, “The matter is being treated as sudden death and investigations have been launched.

“A post-mortem will be done to ascertain the cause of death and it will determine whether there was foul play or it is sudden death. H Metro
