Elias Mambo is an investigative journalist with the Zimbabwe Independent newspaper. His most notable work includes a series of articles exposing how Zanu PF recruited Israeli firm Nikuv to assist in the manipulation of the voter’s roll and the July 31 (2013) elections held in Zimbabwe.
A fluent speaker of English, Shona and Chewa, Mambo cut his teeth as an English teacher at Rengwe Secondary School from 1999 to 2003 before becoming a freelance writer for the Midlands Observer newspaper in 2004.
He also had one year a stint as a media studies lecturer in South Africa at the Cape Business College (2006-7). Between 2007-10 he was a freelance writer for the Tabletalk Newspaper before becoming a subeditor with the Independent Newspapers SA.
Mambo holds a Hons Media Studies Degree from the University of Cape Town, a BED and Arts Degree from the University of Zimbabwe, BTech Ed mgmt. Degree from the Pretoria Technkon University, Diploma in education (UZ) and Diploma in Journalism from Intec College.
