Near chaos in Mutoko after ‘Satanism’ trial postponed

By Citizen Reporter

MUTOKO – There was near chaos at Mutoko Magistrates Court on Thursday when the trial of Caroline Zhuwawu who is alleged to have drawn blood from 12 Musau Primary School students in Mudzi for unknown purposes was postponed to November 6, 2013.

The move did not go down well with disgruntled parents of the victims who felt corruption was evident to save the “satanic” woman. One of the victim’s parents who identified herself as Sheila Muhomba said:

“If justice is not met in this case, we will travel as far as Mozambique to revenge because right now our kids are showing unusual behaviours since their blood was drawn from them.”

Mutoko resident magistrate Mr Edwin Marecha criticised the prosecutor, a Mr Chifamba and the accused’s defence council for agreeing to postpone the case for “unclear” reasons.
