The ladies who were identified as Memory Makhalisa, Trish Sithole and Nyasha Nyatsanga were breathing fire as they hauled Leonard Gwata to the police station after his concoctions failed to help them lure lucrative clients.

They were alleging that they had reacted and developed pimples after Gwata had sold them a certain cream for $20 which they applied on their bodies so as to lure customers.

According to eye witnesses who were at the shopping mall, the prostitutes were heard shouting at the prophet as they demanded him to reimburse them of their money after his alleged charms failed to work wonders.

“The fake prophet was nearly assaulted by vendors at Fife Avenue shopping centre as he left the police station as they alleged that he has also tried to con them.

“This man approached me last Friday and told me that his consultation was $5 and he said that my business was going to blossom if I gave him that money. I however didn’t believe him so I told him to go away as I had never dealt with prophets in my life.

“It seems he didn’t give up as he went on to approach these prostitutes who took him to the police station after his alleged charm failed to work,” said one vendor who refused to be named.

Airtime vendors also chased him away as they told him that they didn’t want to see him at Fife Avenue shopping centre again.

“Enda kure iwe hatidi kukuona pano futi, unokuruka kwaunogara kwete kuno kuHarare. Hatirarame (here) neairtime pano tichirera mhuri pasina mishonga kana chiporofita chatashandisa, said one vendor.

The ladies were also heard swearing that they would personally deal with the prophet after they left the police station. It could however not be ascertained where the alleged fake prophet was operating from. Efforts to get a comment from the Harare police spokesperson were fruitless.
