The incident occurred on Thursday last week at house No. 19A Morris Street in Rimuka at a funeral wake where she fell into a trance after prayers had been conducted by members of ZCC. Only identified as Gogo Susan, the woman had come from Empress Mine to attend her relative’s funeral.

Gogo Susan was later taken to Kadoma police station as mourners and relatives were baying for her blood.

“Kamuchembere Katanga kungoti tipeyi nyama tidye tipeyi iyi tapedza nayo imwe tasiya kuna Rupiya (a street in the suburb),” said one of the mourners.

“She only started doing that after a prayer session was conducted and we suspected that she is a witch and everyone else was gripped with fear and they turned against her. Had it not been for the quick response by cops, she could have been beaten up,” added one of the mourners.

Gogo Susan could not attend the burial of her relative following the incident.
