Isaac Nyamhandu displayed his murderous intent last Thursday at Plot 18 in Glen-Forest when he ‘roasted’ Luckson Kingrose’s neck demanding US$1 for the shovel that Luckson had hired to perform a part time job.

Nyamhandu was arrested on Friday morning and detained at Borrowdale police station and was expected to appear in court on Tuesday.

According to eyewitnesses, Luckson hired a shovel from Nyamhandu at a rate of US$1. The arrangement was that, Luckson would pay up as soon as he gets his remuneration, however it turned out that his employer deferred payment.

“Unfortunately Luckson’s employer told him that he will pay him on a later date. Luckson explained the situation but it fell on deaf ears. Nyamhandu told him that he wanted to roast his neck and we thought he was playing but he went on to take a log in the fire and burnt him.

“He fled the scene as people were baying for his blood,” narrated an eyewitness.

Luckson was treated for small burns at Parirenyatwa group of hospitals and discharged. H Metro
