HARARE City goalkeepers’ coach Witness Munkuli is at odds with Tryson Chimbetu’s former manager-cum-dancer Wayne “Musoro” Kembo amid claims the lanky dancer is having an affair with his wife.

The former Hwange, CAPS United and Dynamos goal-minder had a heated argument with his wife Namatai in the early hours of Wednesday after he caught wind of the alleged affair.
Sources say Munkuli, who had been suspecting his wife of dating the dancer, got worried after Namatai came home around midnight despite knocking off at around 10pm.
In fact, what raised Munkuli’s suspicion is that Namatai had sent Musoro to pick up their kid from school on the day in question much to the ire of the former goalie. At the height of the scuffle, sources say, Munkuli is alleged to have threatened to kill his wife before taking away his own life and that of their child.
Namatai confirmed the brawl but insisted she was no longer interested in her husband of eight years. “Munkuli does not realise that I am the one looking after him and the child and now I can’t stomach his threats anymore,” said Namatai.
“Munkuli doesn’t want me to stay with my two brothers or communicate with other men. The problem started when I sold my car to Tryson. Since then he has been giving me problems especially when he comes home drunk.
“He could not repent despite all the counselling sessions we received from his brother and we ended up at police stations sometime back. I cannot leave my brothers to suffer because there is no one to look after them since our parents are late.
“Munkuli is still to get a contract with a football club but I am fending for him. He is the one spoiling girlfriends with my money that I give him and recently he accused me of dating Tryson after I sold my car to him. Wayne is my cousin and I sometimes support Tryson’s band.

Contacted for comment, Wayne confirmed Munkuli confronted him, despite the former goalkeeper vehemently denying the reports. He said “I was surprised by Munkuli’s allegations as he knows me pretty well. I am not new at their house where I usually hang around discussing quite a lot of issues,” said Wayne.
“In fact, Namatai phoned me yesterday (Tuesday) asking me to pick her child from school much to the disapproval of Munkuli but to be honest we are not in love. As for the alleged affair, Namatai is my sister by virtue of our mothers sharing the same totem.
“Munkuli first suspected Tryson of cheating with his wife after she sold her car to him and now he is suspecting me as well. Namatai and Munkuli both attend our shows and I am surprised by his claim,” said Wayne.
In another interview, Munkuli denied the scuffle which was also witnessed by their neighbourhood in Kuwadzana 5. “I never clashed with Wayne,” said Munkuli downplaying the brawl.
“Wayne is one of our friends of and it’s not true that I threatened to kill my wife. Whoever is spreading that rumor is just out to tarnish my name,” said Munkuli.
Later in the evening, Namatai called saying she is no longer in love with Munkuli but he won’t let her go. “Ari kuramba kurambwa, kana munhu wanzi hauchadiwa chete. He also says I must not date young guys since Wayne is now in his late 20’s when I am around 35 years old,” said Namatai.
