Ambassador Alick Macheso starts work

Ace sungura musican Alick Macheso, who was recently appointed Zimbabwe Red Cross Society Humanitarian Ambassador, was officially handed the keys to his offices. Ambassador Macheso received the keys at a private function held at ZRCS headquarters in the capital.

ZRCS secretary General Maxwell Phiri spoke glowingly about Macheso who officially assumed his new role. “We are delighted for this development as we handover Ambassador Macheso the office starting today. His ambassadorial role starts now and in here,” he said.

“Zimbabwe Red Cross initiated this move because we have been tracing his history in every corner of the world and he was chosen for his love to help the needy,” he added.

Speaking at the same event, ZRCS Marketing and public relations manager Takemore Mazurutsa expressed confidence in the Orchestra Mberikwazvo boss as he assumes a new role.

“Macheso is now recognized at a global and international level, his work is entitled to international countries. He will be helping the needy including orphans, the vulnerable and disabled.

“We are happy to have him on board and very soon we will be embarking on campaigns to educate the population on the duties of Zimbabwe Red Cross Society. He appeals to many people around to accept him for his new role.”

Macheso had nothing much to say but only welcome his new role. “Denga hariremerwe kunyangwe zvikaita sei, asi ndinoti ini nemi tave chinhu chimwe, ende tichashanda” said Macheso. He said he feels honoured with the new development. Denga rinokudzwa chose,” he added.

Meanwhile Macheso is set to embark on his annual tour of the United Kingdom this Easter holiday. H Metro
