Slizer salutes Zimbabwe in new DVD

Botswana’s best selling female dancer and singer, Naledi Kaisara known in the entertainment circles as Slizer, has released a song and a video on Zimbabwe in a DVD that hit the streets two weeks ago.
Dubbed “Slizer wow Dhiwewewe”, the DVD has got eight well-packaged songs and several bonus tracks, including the one on Zimbabwe.
The song titled “Makau-Bankintsa ba rhee” is already receiving heavy rotation in nightclubs, parties and other social gatherings, a clear indication of the diva’s popularity in Zimbabwe, where she has become a household name from the time her music invaded the local entertainment scene a few years back.
In the song, Slizer pays tribute to her fans in the country, for capping her queen of dance, a message she lyrically emphasises and complements with high-energetic dances during the seven-minute video.

Dressed in white cargo pants, a matching tee and holding the Zimbabwean flag, Slizer arguably one of the best female dancers in the region, displays amazing dance moves that are ably complemented by her ensemble throughout the video.
She spiced up the video by showing excerpts of Zimbabwe’s panorama, which includes a bus terminus in Bulawayo, several shopping centres dotted around the country and an aerial view of Samora Machel Avenue in Harare — scenes that resonate with the message of her love for the country and its people.
One thing that you can’t take away from Slizer is her good stage presence and her ability to gyrate in an amazing, but enthralling way. Blessed with both the beauty and a flexible body, she leaves nothing to the imagination as she sways to the fast pace of her music.
Her distinct, energetic choreographed moves she exhibits on stage, coupled by a good voice intonation keeps you glued to the screen.
The Tswana diva is no stranger to Zimbabwe’s entertainment pad having been to the country several times where she staged shows with a number of artistes among them sungura ace, Alick Macheso.
In 2011, she was engaged by the Zimbabwe Tourism Authority to produce songs promoting Zimbabwe as a safe tourist destination. As part of fulfilling her obligations with ZTA. Slizer toured the country’s tourist resorts ahead of the production of her album.
The best Botswana Musicians Union female artiste award winner is a household name not only in Zimbabwe, but in Southern Africa. She started her music career over a decade ago as a backing vocalist for various renowned Batswana groups, including Franco and Alfredo Mos.
Slizer shot to fame with her debut album O Tswa Kae in 2008 which reportedly sold over 30 000 copies and was followed by several hit songs that are currently enjoying a purple patch across the region. Slizer is expecting her first child with South African husband Bosi Moshupi.
She is expected in Zimbabwe in August for a tour.
