The 39 year old Ndlovu, the current Zimbabwe Under 23 national team coach, will appear before a magistrate in Victoria Falls on Wednesday facing charges arising from the December 2012 accident in which he was the only survivor.

Peter who previously played for Coventry City, Sheffield United and Birmingham City in England is said to have been over speeding according to a police probe. Peter himself confessed to family and friends about having dozed off while driving.

Last year we reported how his BMW X5 vehicle overshot a curve near the Victoria Falls Airport, uprooted several trees before coming to a stop. Adam (42) and Nomqhele (24) who were travelling with Peter died in the crash.

Peter’s lawyer Harrison Nkomo confirmed the charges saying “I have yet to see the summons myself, although I’m aware that they are charging him.”

Meanwhile Peter used his attendance at the National Arts Merit Awards (Nama) ceremony in Bulawayo, to thank Zimbabweans for the support he received from them since the tragedy.

“The love I got from Zimbabweans was overwhelming and now I’m almost fully recovered. I’m able to walk and I’m optimistic that I will be fit to play social soccer again soon,” Ndlovu said.
