‘Makandiwa is an anointed servant of God’

Opinion by Osbert Hove

At any given time in this life, the word of God offers answers to all our questions and it holds remedy to all of our problems. Sadly, there are quite a number of people that have been deceived by Satan, the god of this world.

This is not exactly surprising because the Bible makes it clear that Satan “the god of this world has blinded the minds of the unbelievers, to keep them from seeing the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the likeness of God [2Corinthians 4:4].”

Reading and understanding the Bible is not the same thing. Correct spiritual understanding is actually a gift, yet men and women of this day and age claim to be experts even in matters that they have no knowledge of.

From the New Testament in the Book of Acts 8:26-40, an account of Philip and the Ethiopian presents a case study par excellence, where someone can read the scriptures but fail to comprehend the actual intended meaning.

Thank God, for this man irrespective of his status the eunuch admits he knows not. His humble, teachable attitude becomes an essential first step to achieving knowledge of salvation.

Already, the Bible has demonstrated that there are different types of people those who read and understand as well as those who cannot. The need for an anointed man to come and explain is a fact beyond debate.

Ironically, God seems to intentionally conceal certain things about His Kingdom particularly from those who do not believe. Matthew 7:6 says “do not give what is holy to the dogs, and do not throw your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn and tear you to pieces.”

Jesus expressed some profound words here. He is known to be true to His word whatever He preaches is exactly what He proceeds to do.

Christ revealed the nature, will and plan of God to those who would listen, and with the same words He concealed God from those who would not. Likewise in this dispensation God is separating His own for a greater purpose, believe in those whom He sent and it will be well with you.

In a separate incident that confirms that Christ is “truly… a God who hides Himself” [Isaiah 45:15], the disciples came and said to Him,

“Why do You speak to them in parables?” He answered them, “To you it has been granted to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it has not been granted… Therefore I speak to them in parables, because while seeing they do not see, and while hearing they do not hear, nor do they understand.”

And in their case the prophetic word given by Isaiah was being fulfilled, which says, ‘You will keep on hearing, but you will not understand; And you will keep on seeing, but will not perceive [Matthew 13:10-11,13-14]’.

An ordinary man’s interpretation of God has never really been reliable to the extent that even the greatest teachers of the Law Scribes, Pharisees, and Sadducees men who had meticulously studied the scriptures every day of their lives resisted Jesus at almost every turn.

As if that was not enough, they conspired to kill the man they had been waiting for!

“Thou art both perfect man and immutable God at the same time,” the fulfilment of every prophecy, the long-expected Messiah, King of the Jews stood right in front of them, yet they didn’t recognise Him. Exactly what happens when there is no Philip to interpret!

Jesus told them, “You search the Scriptures, because you think that in them you have eternal life; and it is these that bear witness of Me [John 5:39].” How I wish they could have studied the sacred scrolls with the Ethiopian Eunuch’s attitude, they surely would not have missed their answered prayer.

Hearing and understanding God is certainly not the easiest thing on the face of the earth. It takes an anointed man who can hear from Heaven and be able to download the will of God to the place of the earthly realm. The world desperately needs men like Philip who know for sure what they have been called to do in the House of God.

After attending a Sunday Church service at United Family International Church on January 20, 2013, I have not stopped telling my friends that, “absolutely, unequivocally and without any shadow of ambiguity Prophet Emmanuel Makandiwa is an anointed servant of God”.

The miracles I witnessed with my own eyes were stranger than fiction, but unmistakeably demonstrating the power of God.

The servant of God is loaded, has a solid knowledge of the word of God and explains the word with absolute clarity. What follows naturally is the supernatural demonstration of power and an incredible flow of mind-blowing miracles.

The Philip of our time is ready but what worries me is whether Zimbabwe is also ready for the wind of revival bestowed upon Prophet Makandiwa. The man is a crowd magnet and the City Sports Centre main auditorium is always jammed to capacity.

For quite some time, the Christian community in Zimbabwe has been praying for revival to rescue the church that has been weakened by the devil. Contrary to parochial understanding of church revival history, some people seem not to appreciate the fundamental reality that men lead God’s revival.

Agree or disagree, love him or hate him, Prophet Makandiwa’s unflinching faith and powerful vision has undoubtedly shaken Zimbabwe and put the church back on the national agenda.

On January 20, he emphatically stated that “time for revival in Zimbabwe has come” and taught from Jeremiah 33:3 which reads “Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and show thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not.”

In his clear-cut, scripture-based presentation he also explained that the church will begin to witness miracle, signs and wonders that have never been seen before. Let no devil deceive you, God can do the inexplicable, the unexpected, and the unimaginable, and Makandiwa is proving that!
