UK memorial for Adam, Coventry ex-players set up fund for Peter

A memorial service for the former Zimbabwe national team striker Adam Ndlovu who died in a car crash in Victoria Falls last Sunday will be held in Coventry, United Kingdom, this Sunday, 23 December.

Brother Peter’s former team Coventry City Football Club have availed the iconic Legends Lounge functions room at their home ground, the Ricoh Arena, free of charge for the memorial service. The service is being organised and will be led by the AFM Coventry Assembly where Adam’s sisters are members.

A family spokesperson said the service will to start at 3pm and finish at 6pm. “The service will feature music, poems, and testimonials from family and friends. This is an excellent opportunity to give a good send-off to an inspirational sporting hero whose life touched many people”, he said

“We will also have time to pray for the quick recovery of Peter Ndlovu”.

Meanwhile, money is being raised to help the family of ex-Coventry City player Peter Ndlovu who was injured in the car accident in which Adam died. The Peter Ndlovu Appeal Fund has been set up by members of the Coventry City Former Players Association who have donated £500 to help his UK-based family.

One of its members said: “Following Peter Ndlovu’s tragic car accident last weekend which left him seriously injured and his brother Adam dead, CCFPA have set up a fund to help his UK-based family. The money raised will be used to enable his close relatives to fly to Zimbabwe to be with him at this sad time.”

A special appeal to the fans will be made during Coventry City’s home game against Preston North End on Saturday afternoon. Anyone who wishes to make a donation can pay directly into the CCFPA’s account using its sort code, 30-96-20 and account number 00742803, which should include the words Peter Fund.
