The hit, off his latest album Ndauraya Munhu, scaled to a creditable number five on the 24-hour music and general entertainment channel’s international charts.

The track has been holding its own against top class hits for the past two months including Snoop Dogg’s latest track La la la and fellow Zimbabwean Buffalo Souljah’s track Fall My Empire.

Stunner told the Daily News yesterday that his track’s great showing on the international chats has reassured him that he is destined for even greater heights. “I feel encouraged because this development shows I am in the right direction in terms of music,” said the cocky 32-year-old hitmaker.

“I was happy to see my track topping on the international chats, it made me feel like a star. Doing very well against top hits by internationally-acclaimed stars is enough evidence that I am surely on my way to the top”.

Though Sele Mama slipped to number 10 last week with Sean Paul and Kelly Rowland’s track How Deep is Your Love topping the charts, the swashbuckling Stunner believes he has done enough to put Zimbabwe on the map.

The video for Sele Mama was shot in the United Kingdom while the artiste was touring that country. “I recorded the video of the track during my UK tour. The album Ndauraya Munhu has four quality videos that I am sure will do well with time”.

The controversial former Prince Edward High School student has been among Zimbabwe’s top music performers since releasing the hit Rudo Rwemari in 2006. A year later he released another popular hit Dhafukorera before following up with Hameno.

Both albums solidified Stunner’s status as a top entertainer particularly among the young.

Controversial Stunner, whose tiffs with fellow rappers Munetsi and Maskiri has regularly made the news, has been attacked by some fans for being too full of himself. The critics have railed into the self-praise lyrics in the tracks Team Hombe and Live Your Life. – Daily News
