Makekera who holds a Master’s Degree in Accounting and Financial Management from the University of Gloucestershire is a director with Kingdom Personnel Limited, a nursing and domiciliary care agency formed in May 2010.

Kingdom Personnel Limited has been nominated in the “Care Employer Award” section where “employers should be able to demonstrate considerable acumen and entrepreneurial flair whilst at the same time having a sustained track record of delivering high quality care and managing improvement.”

Speaking to Nehanda Radio, Makekera said “it has been an amazing journey of faith and I’m so excited and overwhelmed by the recognition of my hard work. I hope that this will be able to impact on other people’s lives and be able to make a positive change in the society or community.”

The Great British Care Awards are a series of regional events throughout England. The purpose of the awards is to pay tribute to those individuals who have demonstrated outstanding excellence within their field of work.

This year there are 9 regional awards leading to 2 national finals for both the home care and care home sectors. Winners of the regional awards will go through to the National Finals in Spring 2013 at a prestigious London venue.

Martin Green, Chief Executive of the English Community Care Association said the “awards provide an opportunity to celebrate the very best in social care. These awards give recognition to those who work hard to ensure good quality care and give everyone in the care sector, a benchmark of quality to aspire to”.
