UK based Afro TV to launch in March

LONDON- UK based African internet television station Afro TV will be officially launched on the 31st of March at the Hilton Hotel Paddington in London.

The channel was founded by Zimbabwean Sibongile Tendai Tamia Rukazhanga and aims to provide viewers with quality entertaining and educational programmes. According to the station they aim to;

“To promote raw African talent that is usually sidelined by the mainstream media with a special focus on African musicians and African filmmakers. Shows include African music shows, African gospel shows, African entertainment news, African dramas, movies and documentaries.”

Afro TV says it also aims to open closed doors to Africans who want to work in the media by providing training and work opportunities. One of their main objectives is to act as a vehicle for African musicians and African filmmakers by showcasing their work.

Some of the shows include

Afro Gospel Show – a spiritually uplifting programme. The show plays African gospel music and shares the word from the bible. The show also shows highlights from major UK gospel events and interviews with artists.

On the night of the launch in March Afro TV say they have lined up some great entertainment including African speakers, musicians, filmmakers and other artist showcasing their work.

The night will be a chance for African entrepreneurs to network with each other. Tickets are £50 and they include a three course meal, entertainment and free entry into the after party.
