Zimbabwean charged with sex attack on granny, 96

A 34 year old Zimbabwean man, Timothy Utedzi is being charged with sexually assaulting a 96 year old woman who was under his care in a home for the elderly in the United Kingdom.

On Saturday morning Utedzi appeared in court charged with the alleged attack, which prosecutors say happened on Thursday. He was remanded in custody to appear at Aylesbury Crown Court on July 15.

A spokeswoman from the UK Crown Prosecution Service said Utedzi was charged with assault on a female “by penetration with part of the body or a thing.”

A police source said: “It was reported by staff at the care home, who called police as soon as they were made aware of the allegation.” The home where Utedzi worked has not been named in order to protect the victim.
