Top cop urges chiefs to kill Biti using lightning

A senior police officer fiercely loyal to Robert Mugabe has asked traditional leaders and chiefs in Murehwa to generate lightning through witchcraft and kill MDC-T Secretary General and Finance Minister Tendai Biti.

In a shocking example of hate language Police Commanding Officer for Murehwa District, Chief Superintendent (DISPOL), Simon Mwatsikesimbe, made the speech while addressing more than 100 traditional chiefs and headmen from across the district at the Murehwa Community Hall last Tuesday.

Mwatsikesimbe justified the call to kill Biti using lightning claiming civil servants in the country will continue living in misery for as long as Biti was alive. Economic hardships faced by government employees, especially the police, is a result of Biti’s stinginess with state funds.

“Unwillingness by Biti to release funds to pay civil servants better salaries is the reason why police officers were corrupt. I call upon you to kill Biti with lightning,” said the police chief. Ironically the meeting was convened to assess public opinion regarding the professionalism of the law enforcement agency.

Biti has resisted calls by Mugabe to award civil servants salaries arguing the treasury does not have the funds to do so, diamond revenues from Chiadzwa need to be accounted for and the more than 75 000 ghost state workers need to be removed from the government payroll first.
