Picture Puzzle: The two faces of Chihuri
Headlines, News, Pictures — By Esther Gomo on March 25, 2011 2:21 pmThis is Zimbabwe’s Chief of Police, Augustine Chihuri known by his proper title of Commissioner General of the Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP). On the 3rd of March 2011, Chihuri finally showed up for a hearing before the Parliamentary Committee on Defence and Home Affairs after days of ducking and diving.
He predictably shocked everyone in attendance by launching into a super-charged tirade that blamed the MDC, themselves the victims, for directing the political violence ravaging the country. This was despite photographic evidence of his police officers actually escorting violent mobs of Zanu PF youths.
Immediately after Chihuri’s rant London based SW Radio Africa sought the comment of Co-Home Affairs Minister Theresa Makone who furiously said Chihuri was “not well and needs medical treatment.” She challenged the committee to summon him back to another hearing, where she would be present.

We put together this photographic contrast and ask our readers what they think about Chihuri’s health, mental or otherwise?
