Portsmouth still waiting for Bhasera

Portsmouth insist they haven’t given up hope of recruiting forgotten Zimbabwean player Onismor Bhasera. The Zimbabwe international has been training with the Blues for the past six months.
The left-back’s training ground performances had convinced Pompey to offer him a three-year deal back in September. However, a contract wrangle between the player and his South African club Kaizer Chiefs have put the brakes on the move ever since.
Bhasera claims he is a free agent, while his club insist he has a year remaining on his contract. That deadlock prompted Fifa to intervene in a bid to solve the problem. Yet still no agreement has been reached.
Pompey cannot sign him anyway due to the transfer embargo still in place.
Regardless, Storrie is adamant they remain interested in the highly-regarded 23-year-old and are monitoring his contract situation. The chief executive said: ‘We are still keen on the player, but at the moment it is out of our hands.
‘The argument is between the club and the player and still it hasn’t been sorted. ‘There is nothing we can do about that. The problem is between others.
‘All we can do is wait and see what they can sort out. Portsmouth News
