MDC’s SA executive was never fired
Statements — By admin on November 17, 2009 6:11 pmPress Statement sent to the state owned Herald Newspaper
I was initially tempted not to respond to your false story which heralded that the MDC’s SA executive was fired over the weekend.
My colleagues in MDC implored me to ignore the story saying The Herald was in the business of lying and denigrating the MDC leadership.
I however elected to give sanity a chance. I was never surprised anywhere by your decision to run by that story but what baffled me is your resolution not to contact us to get our side of the story.
It is basic and elementary in journalism to get a response from the people being written about. There are no two ways about it.
Only district chairpersons, referred to as the council, can pass a vote of no confidence in a provincial executive.
In this case the Council of MDC in SA NEVER met and only Satan knows who exactly met under the cover of darkness and made pronouncements of recalling the provincial executive.
We don’t even have a clue of the people who met and appointed themselves MDC leaders in South Africa.

We have never received letters from anyone recalling us from the province. Such powers are not even invested in individuals.
How do you recall someone from a party position, because everyone in MDC holds a position at the pleasure of the electorate?
No party funds or resources were abused because we never had any cent to spare.
How can we misuse money which we never had? MDC is not a business organization that generates profits, but is a political party that survives through donations from members.
So your faceless sources seem not to understand how we operate as a party.
Our office rentals were contributed by members. We decided to close our current offices in order to seek cheaper ones. This is as simple as that
