FIFA to rule on Bhasera transfer saga

The wrangle between English Premiership side Portsmouth FC and Kaiser Chiefs of South Africa over the transfer of Zimbabwean left-back Onismor Bhasera will soon be resolved by FIFA.
The world governing body will soon make an announcement on whether Bhasera is indeed a free agent as he claims. Chiefs on the other hand insist the player still had a year left on his contract and want Pompey to cough up a transfer fee.
Bhasera’s agent Richard Gomes has confidently predicted FIFA will rule in favour of the Zimbabwean who a few months ago won a UK work permit appeal to join Portsmouth.
Gomes insisted the 23-year-old Zimbabwe international was a free agent.
“I’m representing Bhasera in this deal and the claim by Chiefs that the player is still under contract with them is utter rubbish! FIFA will make an announcement soon and I’m sure it will be in favour of Portsmouth and Bhasera. I’ll stay silent until then.”
Asked why he was so confident Gomes added “First of all, if Bhasera is still under contract with Chiefs, why are they not paying his salary? He has not received a salary for months! Secondly, if they are not paying him for a reason, like he has failed to report for training or he has been suspended, then they have to state the reason and say his contract is null and void, or either way you look at it. Chiefs are at fault!”
