The hypocrisy of the Information Ministry led by Zanu PF MP and Information Minister Webster Shamu came out in the open when the government on Monday launched a new daily newspaper, the H-Metro without a licence.

While a handful of independent publishers and newspapers are waiting for the formation of the Zimbabwe Media Commission, 6 months on, the H-Metro did not even need to go through such formalities.

An unashamed Shamu gave the lame excuse that government papers were exempt from licencing requirements.

Several papers including News Day, The Daily News and Daily Gazette are all waiting restlessly to get operating licences.
