Zimbabwe Premier Soccer League club Monomotapa have handed suspensions to four of their senior squad members.

Club captain Mthulisi Maphosa, Daniel Zokoto, Godfrey Mangove and Lucky Simango have been suspended for reportedly rebelling against the club’s management.

The club’s board came to the decision on Thursday and all of the players have been notified via a letter and a phone call.

A Monomotapa spokesman told The Herald: “Their letters of suspension have been written and the four players have been contacted by telephone.

“By 9am tomorrow (Thursday) everyone should have received his letter as confirmation.”

He added: “Each player is free to consider what action to take after getting the letter.

“The executive will after that determine what further action to take, depending on the response from the players.”
