Prime Minister Morgan Tsvangirai has rejected claims by President Mugabe that he apologized to him over a boycott of cabinet last week by MDC Ministers.
Mugabe had claimed he was surprised by the MDC boycott but that Tsvangirai had told him the ministers were out of line and should have attended cabinet to at the very least express their frustrations with Zanu PF.
Tsvangirai spokesman James Maridadi told Voice of America in an interview that Tsvangirai did not offer any apology and that he fully understood MDC frustrations over outstanding unity government issues.
Primary among these are the unresolved issues of the appointment of Reserve Bank Governor Gideon Gono and Attorney General Johannes Tomana. The appointment of permanent secretaries, governors, and ambassadors we are told is still to be agreed.
