Student leader killed in car crash

The Student Christian Movement of Zimbabwe (SCMZ) would like to inform friends and relatives, of the untimely death of Makomborero Pfebeni who died on Friday 3 July 2009. He was involved in a car accident along Harare – Masvingo road around 7pm and he died on the spot.

Makomborero, an ardent member of SCMZ has an unparalleled record of experience in defending students’ rights. He was the former Gweru Polytechnic SRC President for 2005 – 2006.  Makomborero was also the former ZINASU Secretary for International Relations for 2006-2007.  He died at the age of 30.

On the day of his death, he was traveling with Samuel Mangoma, who is the former ZINASU Treasurer for 2006 – 2007. Samuel sustained fractured limbs, but has been since discharged and currently recovering at home.

Makomborero will be buried at his rural home in Shurugwi on Tuesday the 7th of July 2009.
