isPermaLink="false">http://nehandaradio.com/?p=638#comment-265

I have never been a big fan of JONONO and have been very critical of his articles. However on this particular article, JONONO is on target. Tsvangirai's submission in London does not only demonstrate that he lacks leadership qualities but MDC as party, lacks direction.
I think Tsvangirai is not even rooted in MDC but he is caught between the interest of the west and the interest of GNU which leaves him seated on a very dangerous fence between two enemies. In addition, any slight act by Tsvangirai to deviate on any side could leave him if not his life between a rock and a hard place.
I know Zanu pf is not the best party since sliced bread but in having an opposition lead by Tsvangirai, they have had a bonus of almost 7 years in government. MDC does not even have a stragic plan. What is their mission statement and how the hell do they expect to get to their goals. Question is can anyone do a better job than Zanu pf? I use to think MDC would and after the Prime Minister's tour of the west, I was left with no option but to conclude we have two different kinds of evils. The nasty Zanu pf and the Blind MDC.
My hope is for this generation of old, inhumane self destructed politicians to pass and then may be I could feel a sense of patriotism. Zanu PF and MDC do not represent me. I can do a better job than the two parties and from this point onwards Zimbabwean politics has no bearing on me.
Thanks very much for the wonderful inheritance and by the way, I am a born free.

I have never been a big fan of JONONO and have been very critical of his articles. But he will realise that even with the rigging, this time around they will run out of paper as they did with the zim dollar. The margin will be great for all and sundry to see. After seeing this improvement who will identify with those who brought this country down. Even if we are not going to see any more improvements, this is good a highlighter for all who cared to see. They lost it when they agreed to bring these other guys on board for us to see. Now we know who has potential for what??? Destruction or construction.....

I aggree with you all. Jana thinks that the Regional capital will vote for ZANU again. Aiwazve, we wanted the heavy weights to remain and solve the problems you guys put us in. U are on the sanction list nhaika???? And you were so anxious to have them removed. U now want to use MT to remove them. No the trip was a success. 1 issue u shld know, for us the sanctions are not an issue and we do not want them removed. Instead they shld be increased. Usanyengera MT to get out of step with his constituency. If he helps to get them removed, we turn our backs on him. Get this right.
Jono, this is a strategic time. U wanted him to leave his constituency and identify with zim at his own cost. Identify with your constituency and maintain the majority and be rest assured of a win come election time and all these so called sanctions will fly away just like wind. Saka mari yekutambira murikuidaka va Moyo???? You seem to be so much worried about the money being given to NGO. U wanted it to come to you and the ZANU cabal. No guys u had your chance but u plew it. Let him enjoy his time. We are also enjoying it along with him which is what matters after all. The problem with your definition of Zim is "a few ZANU rascal and their followers" but his def is all of us. Thats where the diff is. Prof, sometimes u talk like u are mad. So u expected MT tell America to forget about the outstanding issues of the GPA???? Why???? Because they hinge on your beloved friend GG, Secretaries, Ambassaders and Governors'''''''U used to say that America (inparticular Bush)is safeguarding its kith and kin. Do u realise that this time around it is Obama, a Black Kenyan who is proud to be identified with his black kith and kin. Obama is only being reasonable which u are failing to be. So now we know that common sense is not common. Even profs do not have it. Shame on u Sir.U talk of radio stations which are based in USA. Why do they find themselves based there Prof. If u are able to answer that qn then you must know that u shld be the last to lecture us on the failures of ZIM. U have been in gvt but you were there for your self and not for us. So it is u who does not get it and not MT. Since when has ZANU started acting on behalf of pple. Which legacy are you talking about. The legacy of theft and killings. Dont u know how they butchered pple in Mat???? Dont u know how they killed recently????? So which legacy are you telling us??? Better keep your ZANU ideas to your self kanausina chokureva. Unid to realise this Prof that it is u and ZANU which are doomed. Your so called gods will not be able to protect you this time around. U came in thru the back door (negotiated settlement with MDC MT) AND U HAVE SEALED OFF THAT DOOR NOW. we want to see you ever surviving again. Uchenjere kuita another Gison Sibanda. Had his criticism had in there at least one or two concrete solutions I would have been more accommodating. However since you saw a lot of truth from this liar who incidentally was instrumental in some of the hardships in Zimbabwe, why don't you do the honours of separating the dross from the gold. Do not beat yourself if this exercise is futile because like you rightly pointed out it is not the man's words that make him a liar but his character and agenda. Some choose to call him a political commentator and therefore afford him time and space. But then again if you put aside issues of dignity, ubuntu or hunhu the gentleman does bring sensationalism which has nothing to do with the reality we all face. A liar is a liar just like a leopard will never change its spots so why would I burden myself by sifting through his utterances to find the truth? When it comes to Jonathan I say: Enough-already! Spare Me your sour grapes; we have enough people bringing sense to our situation as Zimbabwe.

Personally I saw a lot of drivel. isPermaLink="false">http://nehandaradio.com/?p=638#comment-259

The trouble with Jonah is that he does not write as one seeking to enlighten or to clarify, he writes to push a certain agenda always and that agenda more often than not has to do with securing certain interests or advantages for himself. He's unlike another formerly Zanu aligned academic - Ibbo Mandaza. For instance, while Ibbo's ideological leanings and party political biases have always been self- evident, his writing remained largely unemotional and depersonalised and you could still recognise it as an issue-based analysis, therefore making it easier for the reader to identify where they disagree or agree with him.
In sharp contrast, Jonathan's style does not for a moment pretend towards the academic - it is clearly polemical, that's why he needs to be sharp-tongued, abrasive and even insulting. And you can see how it functions as his chief political instrument, hence the viscerally emotive delivery. His style is like one who comes out armed with brickbats, rekeni, assegai, grenades, mbama, boxing gloves - everything - and unleashes the full fury of his assorted arsenal on his unfortunate victim. A Jonathan Moyo attack is meant to destroy, and to destroy utterly, never mind the fairness or otherwise of such an attack.
In the context of the post-March 2008 dispensation - the entrenchment of a two-party system despite Zanu's deathwish for the MDC - Moyo has calculated that it is better for him to hunt with the hounds. In his reasoning, the balance of power is tipped in favour of the state's coercive apparatus aided by the former ruling party's deep historical connections with regional states and their ruling parties, and Moyo's probably figured that such capital may yet sway the outcome of any contest post-Mugabe, post-GPA, and as such in order to secure his political future, he's got to nail his colours to the Zanu mast in a blatant way. Call it doing penance in order to earn a second chance with Zanu - he's gone back to trying to prove himself worthy of acceptance as he did following his about-turn as chief academic critic of Zanu when he was invited to spearhead constitutional reform in 1999.

The trouble with Jonah is that he does not write as one seeking to enlighten or to clarify, he writes to push a certain agenda always and that agenda more often than not has to do with securing certain interests or advantages for himself.
