Tapa not part of ZimDiaspora.com

Diaspora, News — By admin on June 24, 2009 3:26 pm

‘Ephraim Tapa has nothing to do with Zimdiaspora.com website’ so says Peter Nyoni the former logistics person for the MDC UK.

Nyoni contacted Nehanda Radio seeking to distance the website from the beleaguered former MDC UK chair Tapa. He sought to get us to retract an article which we published in 2007 linking Tapa, Julius Mutyambizi-Dewa and Nyoni to the website.

Explaining why the website registration details had contacts that linked Tapa, Nyoni and Dewa, Nyoni blamed it on a mistake made by one Simba Chikanga of Zimeye.com whom he said registered the website on behalf of the group.

“Chikanga mixed up addresses and put my address and that of Mutyambizi. I funded the project myself.  I paid for it myself and never got money from the MDC.”

Asked what the purpose of ZimDiaspora.com was, Nyoni said, “we did this to help publicize the good work that the MDC UK was doing most of which was never covered and so we came up with this project,. This project was supposed to be owned by the members of the MDC. It is meant to be a platform for news and is supposed to report news without fear or favour.Tapa happened to be the chairperson of the MDC UK ,he had nothing to do with the website.’

However Nehanda Radio still maintains that when ZimDiaspora.com was initially set up it ran pro-Tapa stories while launching acrimonious personal attacks against Morgan Tsvangirai and the MDC in Zimbabwe. Tapa was given space to spew his vetriol at Tsvangirai as we stated back in 2007.

So this Tapa must be a powerful guy for him to control ZimDiaspora, in’t it?

Asi imi Nehanda mazomunyanyinyira henyu time time

  2. John says:

Tapa never attacked Tsvangirai in person, however, he did complain about the process of dissolving his commmitte which was unconstitutional.

  3. Nathaniel Zuvarabuda says:

These guyz can try to run away from the truth, but the truth remains the same. I Nathaniel Zuvarabuda knows the whole truth about Tapa,Julius,Nyoni and the other one known as Libety. The Zimdiaspora project was a task given Nyoni by non other than his Boss Tapa himself. I will be publishing a detailed document with full details including more names linked to this Anti-Tsvangirai Zimdiaspora project.

  4. peter Nyoni says:

For all those who think it was a project to insult Tsvangirai below is one of the unedited copy of minutes to prove that this was an effort to counter Mugabes’ propaganda. Tapa was never involved at all. the current MDC-UK & I V.secretary,Izy Mutanhaurwa, as he was one of the committee members, was part of the team that mooted the idea way back in January 2007 well before the dossolution of the Tapa led Executive. Yes indeed we(Zimdiaspora) publish unbiased news without fear or favour. We have been threaghtened by ZANU PF, ZAPU,RORH, MDC and individual for publishing nothing but the truth.

I am ready to handle this now than before

MINUTES OF THE TRANSPORT & LOGISTICS COMMITTEE HELD IN NOTTINGHAM ON SATURDAY 26th MY 2007

    PRESENT:
    1. Mr. P. Nyoni
    2. Mr. A. Bandamira
    3. Mr. C.H. Kamera

The meeting started at 14:55 Hours with an opening prayer from Mr. Nyoni.

A brief background of why the meeting was convened was given by Mr. Nyoni who also mentioned that the MDC (UK) did not have a Website hence the need for us to come up with one to help disseminate information about the party and counter the propaganda being broadcasted against the opposition.

Mr Nyoni proposed that the Website be called “ZIMBABWE CRISIS.org.uk / THE DIASPORA ONLINENEWS.COM” the proposal will be forwarded to the MDC (UK) Provincial Leadership for approval. It was suggested by Mr. Bandamira that the starting point should be that all branches be requested to submit their profiles to the website team for inclusion on the website, if possible to include a photograph of the member as well.

    WEBSITE CREATION/FEATURES AND COSTS:

The items from branches should include branch activities. It should be an interactive website with feedback forms, animation and a host more pop-up features.Mr. Bandamira offered free services to set-up and design the website. He will be assisted by Mr. Kamera in this exercise which was agreed to start right away. It was also suggested that the website could also run on commercial lines at a later stage.

Mr. Bandamira suggested that we also involve Mr. Mike Bennett at a later stage to help out with the website administration. There are costs to be incurred in the setting up of the website these are:

1.WEB HOSTING Approximately £……… (To be researched on)

    2.WEB WATHERING TOOL Approximately £……..
3.SOFTWARE REQUIRED Approximately £……… (To be researched on)

There will be some other costs that will come up as the website takes shape which can’t be detailed now.

There were questions asked of who will meet the initial costs of setting up the website as stated above and it was resolved that we the website team look for the funding. After the STORY BOARD of the website was looked into there was an issue of who would be responsible for the website and it was suggested that MDC (UK) be (the owners) answerable for the website.

    (1) SUB EDITING TEAM – to monitor the website (24/7) / 365 every day and hour to have proper control of the website. There was also the issue of SECURITY RISK of the website, – it also needs addressing.

    (2) BRANCH LINK – to profile each member of the branch on a click. Create a web page for branch to link up with the Home Page.

    (3) ANIMATION – will be setup for all Headlines and News Flash.

    (4) NEWS ARTICLES REPORTERS – there will be need to have news reporters and correspondents in different centres to provide news for the website.

    (5) WEB OPTIMISATION – to link up with GOOGLE website as we will request them to advertise on our site.

(6)FEATURES – there will be Home Page features with news and should be NEUTRAL PAGE but with links available but should be biased towards our aims, principles and objectives in the party (MDC).

(7)HOME PAGE – it is very important that the welcome page (home page) be very IMPRESSIVE and CATCHY…..Professionally designed.

    (8) PAYMENTS – if payments are to be made to the website in future, it is prudent that the website links up with Paying In Companies e.g. PAYPALL etc. or other secure alternatives this is in view of the Data Protection Acts and the legalities involved.

    (9) HOSTING COMPANIES – it was suggested by Mr. Bandamira that we look for a company that does both provide the relevant software and hosts as well. Mr. Kamera and Mr Bandamira to research on this.

(10)TIME FRAME – it was agreed that (3) three months was sufficient time for the initial set up of the website. Mr. Bandamira stated that he will have the initial website in place and to present the design on (07/07/07) 07 July 2007.

    (11) PROFILES – The meeting agreed that the branches should start sending their profiles to the website team as soon as possible to give the tem enough time to set up for presentation in July. Mr. Nyoni was tasked to look into that with the involvement of the Provincial Executive.

    (12) EDITING TEAM – (a)There is a need to have I.T. skilled persons with at least Level 3 qualifications and H.T.M.L. experience to look at the Database of the website as SERIOUS DAMAGE can be caused if one is not careful in the database administration and handling. (b) Journalism based editors are also need to look at the news before being released to the public on the website.(c) These need to volunteer time, finances etc. and need to produce RESULTS. (d) There are vacancies for Chief Editor, Sub Editor and editors as well.

    (13) MEASURING TOOL / YARD STICK – we need to setup a website that can compete with NEW ZIM, NEHANDA websites and many others coming up.

    (14) MARKETING – as the website grows and becomes a household name we will need to market it and Mr. Kamera was tasked to pursue that aspect. Mr. Bandambira proposed that all “G.i.f.”s with animation is charged at half the price that other websites charge and that he can design them. Mr. Kamera and Mr Bandambira will work closely together on this issue.

    (15) CONCLUSION – Authority has been given by the Transport & Logistics Committee to Mr. A. Bandambira to setup, design and come up with a website for us. Maximum cooperation, co-ordination and contribution is expected from everyone in the committee to ensure success of this project
An appeal of original Zimbabwean pictures / scenes or images is to be made to everyone for inclusion on the website’s home page(s).

    (16) WEBSITE – it was proposed that we AGREE that the website belongs to ASSOCIATION OF ZIMBABWEANS IN THE DIASPORA. There should be a document which is binding that states that MDC (UK) is answerable to the website.

    (17) LEGAL ASPECT – the meeting pointed out that there must be a team of legal persons in place to represent the website in case of any legal issues cropping up. Mr. Nyoni was tasked to take it up with the Provincial Leadership.

    (18) PROCEEDS (FUNDS) FROM WEBSITE – there was the issue of who will administer the proceeds generated by the website? Who will be the beneficiaries of the website?

(19)NEXT MEETING: The next meeting will be held on 07 July 2007 at a venue to be decided when the first draft of the website will be presented.

There being no further business to discuss, the meeting need at 16:40 Hrs with a prayer from Mr. Kamera

Power – Sickness of the Dissolved MDC UK PDF Print E-mail
    Written by Makusha Mugabe
    Wednesday, 07 November 2007

    Tapa
    Ephraim Tapa
I find it hard to believe that in this day and age there are still Zimbabweans who believe that political office is there for their own benefit rather than that it is a responsibility with which they are entrusted by the people to carry out their wishes, and even then, only while they still want you to do so.

    “We want more dem-a-crazy”

The likes of Ephraim Tapa, Julius Mutyambizi and Peter Nyoni; individuals who believe that because they were elected at some point in time, it is now their destiny to remain the leaders of the political party, in this case the UK Wing of the MDC, forever, exhibit this illness.

This is the very disease of Africa that we are fighting in Robert Mugabe; people who think they are ordained to be your rulers by the Gods or whoever they believe to have so ordained them, which runs counter to the rules of democracy that we follow, which says dem (as in the Jamaican patois for them, but is actually Greek) meaning ‘the many’ and cracy, meaning “the rule of”, thus making dem-o-cracy.

One wonders whether the this trio understood the word as “dem-are-crazy” when it was using it, or whether it was just an attempt at being clever – using big words which they do not know the meaning of. This has happened before but the performer only got away with it until somebody saw through their façade.

Once you are exposed, the honourable thing is to just retreat back with what is left of your dignity because if you find yourself having to cling to office against the wishes of those who elected you into office, then you have started on the road to hell, just like the guy who tries to argue that he knows the meaning of his English words when he does not.

If your refusal to accept a people’s verdict, on your way to hell you will find plots; you will create plots; there will be counterplots; you will find subversion; lies you will tell and votes you will buy; ballot boxes you will rig and election officials you will corrupt , and eventually you will engage in violence, and ultimately war.

Most wars today are because one person or group of people is trying to impose its will upon the unwilling, whose right it is to resist with all possible force and tactics, leading to community mobilisation to confront the common enemy, when people come together for a resistance.

Resistance can start in a small community that really feels aggrieved and spread to the rest who may not be so aggrieved but nevertheless are also irked by the annoying habits of the oppressive group, especially if they realise that it is their common aspirations that are being thwarted.

So it is with our brothers. In the face of a harmonised election which we have fought for innumerable years, they decide to divert our energies again towards formations which come up every time that an election draws near.

It is not that they really believed in the MDC or that they feel mistreated by the dissolution of their plots-and-counterplots-riddled, lying and cheating executive that even tried to fan violence at the last council meeting. They are not disgruntled about some flouting of the rules, only at being out-manoeuvred.

Their current meetings, website-postings and e-mail-abuse are only tactical tools in an unprincipled fight to remain in power; and to them it does not matter whether that means in another party or another formation, as they have now begin jumping on any bandwagons that become available.

Only yesterday they were denouncing Mrs Lucia Matibenga for the principled stance she took in thwarting their last and final plot that led to their downfall, but now they latch onto her personal cause because they think they can make political capital out of it.

They have denounced Nelson Chamisa and Engineer Mudzuri, let alone President Morgan Tsvangirai who you would believe they were talking about Robert Mugabe if you heard them, but now they want to smear all of them with some talk of rebellion.

Immediately after dissolution they are known to have started approaching Third Way representatives offering to bring across lots of former MDC UK members. The chairman of the MDC UK-coordinating committee, John Nyamande, was correct to refer to Tapa, Nyakudya, Mutyambizi and Nyoni as working for some new political masters, surrounded and being advised by enemy operatives.

They are continually chanting about a fall-out within the ranks of the MDC which they hope might happen and resuscitate their political careers. They actually hope that the MDC divides again so that they can remain leading some national body. Real democrats who were dissolved have gone back and are busy working in their branches.
But this would be too low for the ordained. They have put political power, or is it money, ahead of the people; they do not really care where they realise their political power, thus they will jump around to any formation, as long as it gives them a sense of political power, if you can even call it political power when you are in exile and leading an assortment of scatterlings who don’t know when they will go home.
